Paula de Melo Alves holds a PhD in Pathology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Porto. She earned her degree in Pathological Anatomy from the Polytechnic Institute of Health of the North in 2008. In 2016, she completed an executive postgraduate program after founding a startup that developed an innovative medical device, which received several awards for entrepreneurship and innovation. Since then, she has been actively involved in multiple research projects and business development initiatives within the healthcare sector, including the establishment of spinoff companies at CESPU. Paula has contributed to numerous research and development projects, both as a researcher and as a coordinator. In this capacity, she has delivered numerous oral presentations at national and international congresses and conferences. Simultaneously, she has been a lecturer in human anatomy and histology in various undergraduate programs at the Cooperative of Polytechnic and University Higher Education since 2009 until the present moment.
